SECOND TYRE WALL REPAIR WORKING BEE
29th March 2025

Many thanks to the 15 club members who turned out on a hot Saturday for the first tyre wall working bee a fortnight ago.
We made a good start, repairing an important, high priority section of the tyre wall in front of the spectator mound. The club is particularly grateful to Geoff and Alex Hinds, who brought their BobCat to make the work significantly faster. Thanks very much Geoff and Alex.
But there is still a lot to be fixed, so the next working bee is in two weeks, on SATURDAY 12 APRIL.
This work is important. The tyre walls are among the track’s main safety features and to maintain our MotorSport Australia Track Licence we have to keep them up to standard.
The job involves removing tyre bundles that have weakened or collapsed, repairing them or replacing them with new bundles and stabilising the ground under them.
We need volunteers to come out and join the chain gang as we work our way round the track. We need as many volunteers as can make it: at least 10, but the more the better.
