WORKING WITH VULNERABLE PEOPLE CLEARANCE
28th March 2025

The club is very grateful to all the officials and volunteers who work at our hillclimbs. Without their efforts and enthusiasm we couldn’t run events.
However, MotorSport Australia (MSA) now requires volunteers and officials to have a current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance to ensure the safety of everyone who competes, spectates or helps out at the hillclimb.
If you are a current volunteer or official, or would like to help the Club by becoming one, this message is to help you get a WWVP clearance.
MSA requires us to have a WWVP clearance by the end of May, and the ACT Government is currently taking around 6 weeks to process applications, so please start the process soon. The good news is that because you need the clearance to work in a voluntary capacity for a volunteer organization THERE IS NO CHARGE.
You have to apply for the clearance through Access Canberra, either online or in person. If you apply online, a visit to Access Canberra is necessary at the end of the process.
To try to make the process a bit easier, we’ve stepped it out.
Apply online through Access Canberra
https://www.accesscanberra.act.gov.au/business-and-work/working-with-vulnerable-people
- Select ‘Apply for or Renew a WWVP registration’
- Apply. This will involve creating an ACT Digital Account if you don’t have one.
Helpful information for the application is available in the flyer below
After submitting, you should get a confirmation e-mail with an application reference number.
You then have 30 days to go to an Access Canberra shop front with your application reference number and the originals of the identity documents you cited for the process to be completed.
Access Canberra will then send your completed WWVP check. When you have that, please e-mail it, with the number of your MSA Officials Licence, to Motorsport Australia Member Services at memberservices@motorsport.org.au"
Once again, thank you for helping the club. We really do appreciate it.
