Event Guide
This guide provides information on how to register for an event, and how to manage your data to make event registration as streamlined as possible.
SDMA members need a login and to be a financial member (via a Competition membership - the normal SDMA membership type).
If you are a member of another club that is affiliated with Motorsport Australia, you will need a login and a Competition Affiliate membership. To register for an event, sign up for free and purchase a day membership (see Tickets). you may enter up to two SDMA hillclimb events per annum. If you join the SDMA within 12 months, the cost of the day membership will be deducted from your membership fee. Contact Us to arrange for this deduction.
Head to the Event Registration page and click on the name of the event that you would like to compete in.
Purchase a ticket to register for the event.
Note our Refund Policy at the bottom of the page. Should you wish a refund up to 3 days from the event, contact the Event Secretary.
Competition Entry
A Competition Entry is the standard ticket to purchase for the event. If no tickets are available they will be shown as Sold Out.
- Only a single ticket can be purchased. This is for compliance reasons; each competitor needs to individually sign the legal undertakings contained in the event registration form.
- There are 65 tickets available per event.
Reserve Entry
If Competition Entry tickets are Sold Out, you may purchase a Reserve Entry. If a slot becomes available, we will contact you and convert this to a Competition Entry. Because you are not guaranteed a slot, we recommend you select Direct Debit as the payment type.
- There are 5 reserve tickets per event.
- If you accidentally select Credit Card we can refund you.
Day Membership
This is only required if you are NOT an SDMA Member. It is a fee for using a Motorsport Australia affiliated club membership instead of an SDMA club membership.
This is needed for insurance purposes.
An individual is limited to two day memberships per year (to be used at separate events).
The price of a day membership will be discounted from your SDMA membership fee should you choose to join the Club.
The Toggles
The form contains toggles that change how you enter data. These are designed to make the form simpler by only showing you the information you need to complete to register. Click the toggle to change its value. The white element of the toggle indicates which option is selected.
Vehicle Owner
If you are the vehicle owner, leave the toggle on Me.
If you are using someone else's vehicle, select Other. We need their name and mobile phone number.
License and Membership Details
To confirm you have a valid Motorsport Australia license we need your licence number and expiration date.
If you include your Motorsport Australia license details in your membership form, it will be automatically entered for you. Head to our Member Guide to see how to edit your details.
Vehicle Details
If you have entered recently, your car will be automatically entered with its Make, Model, Class and Capacity class.
Otherwise, enter your car details. The capacity class will be automatically calculated for you, but you need to check the SDMA Class Descriptions and select the correct class.
If you wish to run a different vehicle, or think the automatically entered information is incorrect, toggle to New and enter the details.
Modifications
To ensure you are in the correct class, and safety at the event, all modifications need to be declared and be available for inspection during scrutineering.
If you have previously entered the car, describe any modifications that have been made since your car was last scrutineered.
If this is a new car, describe all the modifications to the vehicle.
Self-Scrutiny Checklist
This is online version of the Motorsport Australia Self-Scrutiny Checklist.
The Motorsport Australia Self-Scrutiny Checklist is a scrutineering document designed to assist competitors to prepare their vehicle/s pre-event.
It is not a regulatory document: it has no regulatory value and should be used as a guide only. It does not constitute a check or confirmation that the vehicle complies with the relevant Motorsport Australia NCR or Event Regulations.
All items presented in this document closely match the Scrutineering Checklist used by Motorsport Australia Accredited Officials at event.
Running Number and Additional Drivers
If you would like to request a specific running number, enter it here.
If the car has multiple drivers, enter the number of additional drivers, and their names.
Hint: You will recall that each driver needs their own entry. So if John is sharing a car with Jane:
- John will list Jane as a secondary driver
- Jane will list John as a secondary driver
Motorsport Australia Event Entry Declaration
This is a Motorsport Australia disclaimer that you must accept to compete at the event.
Payment
You may choose to pay by Credit/Debit Card or by Direct Deposit.
Credit/Debit Card is recommended, with the Club absorbing the credit card fees.
Should you choose Direct Depost you will need to make payment 3 days before the event. Payment details will be included in your entry confirmation.
If you cancel your event registration and have paid by Credit/Debit Card we will refund back to that card.
Who else has registered?
If you would like to see who else has registered for the event, download the Mobile App, click on the Events button, and then Registrations button. A list of registered members will be shown.
Running Order
The running order with the full class list will be published after event registrations close. Should there be sufficient demand, we may be able to create a more dynamic view of event registrations.
Registering with Family Memberships
Each family member will need their own login to register for an event. This is necessary because each person competing must agree to the Motorsport Australia disclaimer.
Instructions on how to create a login for a family member can be found in the Member Guide.
The family member will then log in with their own account to register for the event.
If the family member is a junior, a discount will be applied to their entry fee. Please note that, due to a system limitation, the discounted fee is now $55.10 (discounts are a percentage of the full $95 fee).
A parental consent form may be required for competitors under 18. This form will be sent to a parent or guardian before the event.
